| How To Clean A Stained Porcelain Sink So you have one of those nice white porcelain sinks and it just does not get clean anymore. It is probably stained with coffee, grape juice, orange juice and all those other foods which have color in them that can just stain the heck out of a sink. To eliminate the problem all together you can have your sink re-glazed by a profesional, or replace it. That would probably cost a lot. For now, get a 32-oz spray bottle, put 4 tablespoon of bleach inside and fill to the top with water. Spray the stained areas with the water bleach solution. Then let it sit for 5 minutes. You may have to let it sit longer for stubborn stains. I keep my water bleach bottle under the kitchen sink cabinet and use it when I notice stains re-appearing. It is also great as a germ killer. To keep stains to a minimum, pour all colored liquid directly down the drain. That way they don't get on the porcelain and you avoid stains. To add more protection, you can use a sealer like the A-Maz Sealer. This will cut down on the stains. For rust stains use Magic Rust and Iron Stain Remover. This powdered formula removes tough stains like rust and iron from white clothes, toilets and sinks and more. If you have a new sink do not use any abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. They will just brake down the finish. To clean a new sink, spray with KC 1000 cleaner medium or Goo Gone Grease Cutting Multi-Purpose Cleaner With Citrus Power. They are great. After each use spray your sink and wipe with a terry cleaning cloth. That is all you should need. For a dirtier sink, let cleaner sit for a few minutes before wiping. |
