Get into a preventative mode! Keep spray bottle under kitchen and bathroom cabinets. Spray off counters after cooking, or while waiting for something to finish cooking. Always wash or put your dishes in the dishwasher after eating or while you are cooking. If you don't have a built in dishwasher buy a portable one you can hook up to the sink. Believe me -- it's worth the money or credit card you put it on.

In the bathroom, squeegee off your tiles and shower doors after every use. Wipe down counters and items with a sponge that you keep under the sink. Have a stack of folded Terry cleaning cloths under the sink and some windex to frequently wipe mirrors and other surfaces quickly. Have wastebaskets all over the house for easy disposal of garbage and papers. Always use your exhaust fan in the kitchen. Mine is loud but I don't care -- I still use it!

Apply fabric protector on upholstery. Wipe up spills right away so that they don't turn into stains. Use coasters and place mats. Put a kitty mat under your cat's food and water. Put mats in front of your entry door, and take off your street shoes when in the house. Pay attention to what you are doing and create a plan on how to save time. Then stick with it!
