| How To Care For Non-Hardwood Floors Non- hardwood floors are floors like vinyl, non wax vinyl, asphalt, tile and linoleum. Most non-hardwood floors can simply be cleaned with ammonia and water. You do not have to buy a fancy cleaner. Ammonia is cheap and works just as well. First vacuum the surface, then fill up your kitchen sink half way with water and add three caps full of ammonia to your water. Take your clean Sh-Mop cover and dip it into the solution. Place the Sh-Wipe onto the base and mop one section of the floor until the entire dirt is removed. Then remove the dirty SH-wipe and take another clean one for the next section. Do this until you have Sh-cleaned the entire floor. If you have some hard to remove dirt us your nylon white pad and lightly scrub it up. For glazed ceramic tile: Vacuum and then mop with your Sh-Mop. Use ammonia and water. Glazed ceramic tile does not need to be polished. For scuffs and hard to remove spots use a white nylon pad with KC1000 all-purpose cleaner. Never use abrasive cleaners like Ajax. Un-glazed ceramic tile: First Vacuum and mop with the Sh-Mop using ammonia and water. For hard to remove spots use a white nylon pad. Vinyl Floors: Vacuum and mop with the Sh-Mop using ammonia and water. If you want a shine apply Mop and Glo. For hard to remove spots use a white nylon pad. Avoid abrasive cleaners like Ajax. No wax Vinyl: First vacuum and then mop with the Sh-mop. Do not apply wax to this type of floor. Avoid solvent-based product, or strong cleaners, no Abrasive cleaners like Ajax. |
